This update provides an overview of the current state of the ThreeFold Grid (V3), progress on Project Mycelium (V4), how farming rewards are transitioning toward usage-based economics, and what to expect in the coming months.
🔗The ThreeFold Grid Today (V3)
- The ThreeFold Grid remained stable and fully operational throughout 2025.
- V3.16, V3.17, and V3.18 improved node stability, networking reliability, and tooling.
- V3 will continue running in parallel with V4, with no disruption to existing nodes or workloads.
🔗Project Mycelium & Marketplace (V4)
- Project Mycelium focuses on turning grid capacity into usable services through identity, micropayments, and agent-based workloads.
- The Mycelium Marketplace will roll out in phases to ensure stability and scale with real demand.
- Key milestones include live previews in February 2026 and broader onboarding in Q1 2026.
🔗Marketplace Capabilities & Services
- Identity-based access with blockchain-backed accounting and transparent settlement.
- Native micropayments using SPORE, TFT, and stablecoins.
- Initial services include identity and reputation, capacity reservations, networking, DNS, VPN, AI and agent tooling, with more services added over time.
🔗Mycelium Cloud & Workloads
- Significant progress on Mycelium OS to support production-grade workloads.
- Nodes running V4 can deploy workloads immediately; marketplace participation is optional.
